The Ristorante degli Archi is the newest of the family .... Long desired by Vittorio, and after a little hard birth, well received by all of us. After 18 years since our country inn "Il Rigo" was opened, and 2 years after the Enoteca "Il Pozzo", we have renovated the rooms on the right of the courtyard to accommodate the new professional kitchen and three small dining rooms.
The first two rooms, which are accessed directly from the main entrance
were decorated with Renaissance motifs by the skilful hand of Flavia. They
are decorated with furniture and lamps from family heirlooms. Our ivory tablecloths
are overlalyed with placement mats with different styles of lace.
The third room is set in the old kitchen of the palace, where everything
remained as it always has been, from the great fireplace that we light the
evening in autumn, winter and until spring, to the big table of gray marble
and the old sink .. . Here tablemats inspired by the classic Tuscan kitchentowels,
do not to completely cover the counter of the beautiful table.
From the kitchen you access to a porch, "under the arches", hence
the name of the restaurant. The" strings "- the violin - called "archi" in
italian, also appear on our logo, derived from an eighteenth century frieze
of a house in Prague: we liked the ' idea, because since a few years we host
concerts of young musicians in the hall on the main floor of the building,
whose dimensions are perfect for training in chamber music such as string
quartets.
During
the summer we also equip the tables under the arches and in the courtyard
for a nice candlelight dinner outside . The proposals of the menu ranges
from traditional Tuscan dishes - do not miss the hand-made "pici" (
soft big spaghetti) and our selection of Tuscan cold cuts and "pecorino "cheese
- to more creative dishes but always with seasonal ingredients. Read the "menu'
a la carte" to see our proposals of this month.
